Star has been a mainstay in hip-hop radio for years. He’s entertained, enlightened and offended countless listeners with his no-holds-barred style as the host of Star & Buc Wild. Now he’s back with his new show Everyday Struggle that airs on Complex. The show has been trending on Twitter with many people discussing the new episode. Star’s return to the morning show format brings the same abrasive and snarky approach. He and DJ Akademiks are set to engage in tense battles while Nadeska plays referee.
The first episode of the show is a banger with the two discussing everything from twerking to politics and much more. Star and the rest of the crew are doing an amazing job with the show. This is a great way to start the day with some good comedy and discussion.
As someone who has been on the show a few times, I have always enjoyed the show and the hosts. They are a group of very talented and funny personalities. Star is no exception and he never disappoints. He’s an incredibly smart and intelligent guy who just has no filter and can be a bit abrasive at times.
He and his crew of supporting personalities including White Trash Helene, Chris the Queer and the new Buc Wild (the original was on a spiritual sabbatical) are all hilarious. The rants, philosophies and guffaws are hysterical. The show is definitely not for everyone. I know that some of the rants and jokes can be offensive, but they’re meant to be. If you are offended, then that’s on you.
Star is currently in talks with motion picture studios to expand his brand into the big screen. This seems like a great move as he can reach a new audience that might not be familiar with him and the content on his channel. He’s already built a significant following online that can be converted to a bigger viewing audience.
With the world of online video becoming more cluttered than traditional mass media platforms, it’s no small feat to capture a large viewership in this crowded space. He’s managed to do it by delivering short-form, brilliantly executed segments with a blend of social commentary, comedy and pop culture rants that are distinctly Star and Bucwild.
The first episode of the show is a scream and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us. I’m sure the second episode will be just as good. Check out the full episode below. star bucwild
